Basic Information

Duration: 4 Days

Prerequisites

In order to complete a GWO Basic Safety Training (BST), delegates must be WINDA registered before arriving for the first part of the course.

Renewal:

What is a Blended option?

Blended offers a combination of e-learning and practical course delivery within the training centre.

The delivery of the theory (classroom based) elements of the course will be conducted by participants completing compulsory e-learning prior to attending the training centre to complete the practical training elements. Although the total learning time remains the same, conducting the training this way allows delegates to conduct the theory based learning at a time and location

Delegates will be enrolled to their e-learning approximately 3 weeks prior to the chosen practical training date to the email address provided.

Course Modules

GWO First Aid

Training in advanced rescue procedures, including high-angle rescues and confined space extractions. GWO First Aid ensures wind turbine personnel have the knowledge and skills to handle medical emergencies on the job. It covers core first aid like CPR, wound care, and bleeding control, with a focus on the specific needs of wind turbine environments.

GWO Fire Awarness

GWO Fire Awareness training prepares wind industry personnel to identify and prevent fire hazards within wind turbines. It equips them with the knowledge to use firefighting equipment and safely evacuate during a fire emergency. This training is crucial for promoting safety in wind farms, where working at heights and with electrical systems introduces unique fire risks.

GWO Working at Heights and Manual Handling Combined

GWO Working at Heights and Manual Handling Combined tackles two crucial safety aspects in wind energy. It teaches workers how to safely access, work at, and descend from wind turbines – environments with significant fall risks. Additionally, it equips them with proper techniques for lifting, carrying, and maneuvering heavy equipment often encountered during wind turbine maintenance. By combining these aspects, this training ensures workers can perform their jobs safely and efficiently.
